Terms of service

These terms apply when you send us a list of websites and we deliver results. By sending a list you accept them.

1. Who we are

Lead Notebook is a service run by Morten Farstad Myrmel, Norway ("we", "us"). Contact: morten@leadnotebook.com. Our postal address is in the privacy notice.

2. What the service does

You send us a list of business websites. Our software reads up to four public pages of each site (the home page plus contact, services, booking or location pages) and we send you a spreadsheet with what we observed: contact routes, advertised services and website tools, each with the page and a short excerpt it came from.

The service is in beta. We may change how it works, and we may decline an order, for example a list that is not mostly business websites.

3. What results mean, and what they do not

  • Results describe what was on the pages we read when we read them. Websites change.
  • "Not observed" means we did not see it on those pages. It is not proof that a business lacks it.
  • We do not check that an email address works, and we do not tell you whether you may contact anyone.
  • We follow robots.txt and report sites that block automated visits instead of getting around them.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Send only lists you are allowed to use, made up of business websites.
  • Use the results lawfully, including the rules on marketing messages, calls and personal data that apply to you (for example CAN-SPAM, the TCPA and the GDPR).
  • Do not use the service to harm the businesses on your list or to get around their technical protections.

5. Price and payment

  • $0.05 per useful result. A result is useful when we read the site and found at least one contact route, a clearly advertised service or a site tool, from the site's own pages. Each website counts once, even if it appears on your list more than once.
  • Never charged: dead, broken, parked or blocked websites, sites where nothing useful was found, weak passing mentions only, invalid rows and duplicates.
  • Your first 20 websites are free. Totals under $0.50, the smallest amount a card can be charged, are free.
  • You pay after delivery, by card through the Stripe payment link in our delivery email, within 14 days. Larger orders may get a Stripe invoice instead. Prices are in US dollars. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.
  • We may change prices for future orders. The price on this website when you send a list applies to that list.

6. Mistakes and refunds

If a row you paid for does not meet the definition of a useful result in section 5, tell us within 14 days of delivery. We will check it and refund or credit that row. If you pay too much by mistake, we refund the difference.

7. Your data

We use your list only to produce your results and delete the list and the results 30 days after delivery. Details are in the privacy notice.

8. Ownership

Your list stays yours. You may use the spreadsheet we deliver in your own business, including sharing it inside your company and with your clients. The excerpts in it come from the businesses' own public websites.

9. Liability

We deliver the service with care, but results are provided as observed, without a guarantee that they are complete, correct or fit for a particular purpose. Our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for lost profits or other indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version on this website when you send a list applies to that list. These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the Norwegian courts, unless the law of your country gives you a right we cannot take away.
